If you are looking to impress your guests at your party make them a drink that is not common. The key to choosing an uncommon drink is to get ideas jaffa-martini-shaker_20090821837from the common. You may be asking “how do I get or find recipes for mixed drinks”?  Well, you do research online, in cook books or in a library.  Believe it or not the library is still a very useful tool. You can go and check out many different books on mixed drinks and cocktails. Once you find a book you like you can always go to places online like Amazon.com to purchase it so that you always have a reference.
